Vermont Family Caregiver Services and Respite Supports

What it offers

Vermont caregiver programs include Family Caregiver Services for Older Vermonters, Dementia Respite, and Family Managed Respite for children and young adults under age 22 with a mental health condition or developmental disability. Vermont's 2024 NFCSP remote support guide identifies caregiver education and training, virtual support communities, assistive devices, home modifications for access and safety, respite, and financial assistance through regional Area Agencies on Aging. It also identifies kinship caregiver supports for caregivers age 55 or older caring for children age 18 or under, including assistive devices, home modifications, educational electronic devices, extracurricular activities, camps, and childcare. DAIL points users to the Senior HelpLine and Vermont 211 for assistance.
