North Carolina Division of Aging, Area Agencies on Aging, and NC 211 Resource Navigation

North Carolina caregivers can use NCDHHS Division of Aging Assistance, the statewide Area Agency on Aging network, county and regional aging services, and NC 211 to find caregiver, aging, disability, adult day, care management, options counseling, respite, in-home aide, meals, transportation, legal, housing, health, disaster, utility, food, and local human-service referrals.

What it offers

North Carolina's Division of Aging works to promote the independence and dignity of older adults, persons with disabilities, and their families through a community-based system of opportunities, services, benefits, and protections. NCDHHS lists home and community-based services including adult day services, care management, family caregiver support, home care independence, housing and home improvement, information and options counseling, in-home aide, Lifespan Respite, Project CARE, senior centers, meals, and transportation services for older adults. NCDHHS publishes a statewide Area Agencies on Aging map with 16 regions, phone numbers, and agency websites. NC 211 is a free, confidential, multilingual health and human services information and referral system available 24 hours a day in all 100 North Carolina counties, with phone and online resource-search access.
