Family as Paid Caregiver
Family as Paid Caregiver is a self-direction service delivery option for Medicaid HCBS Waiver participants, allowing family members aged 21 and older to be paid for caregiving.
What you get
Cash Stipend, Services, as recorded:
- Per diem to provider: $90.03/day for Level I Care; $135.04/day for Level II Care (Monitored In-Home Caregiving); self-direction wages otherwise negotiated by the employer within program budget

How to apply

Prior to a family member becoming or remaining a DSP, the Support Coordinator discusses best interest, self-determination, and extraordinary care with the beneficiary or legal guardian; the family member/LRI must complete Family as Paid Caregiver training and sign the attestation form, which the Support Coordinator then signs to set an effective date.
