Idaho ADRC and 211 CareLine Resource Navigation
Idaho caregivers can use the Idaho Commission on Aging Aging and Disability Resource Center, Area Agencies on Aging, and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare 211 CareLine to find local senior, disability, caregiver, housing, health care, transportation, food, mental health, kinship, veteran, and community-service referrals.
What it offers
Idaho's Aging and Disability Resource Center provides local information, tools, and guidance for seniors and people with disabilities and helps people make informed choices about existing needs and future planning. Idaho Commission on Aging says the ADRC is a one-stop resource for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers looking for local services and support, including housing, health care, transportation, Medicare counseling, caregiver support groups, and long-term care planning. Idaho's six Area Agencies on Aging serve caregivers across the state, provide services, help with planning, guide people to local community services, and assist with self-care. The Idaho 211 CareLine is a free statewide community information and referral service run by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, with a database of free or low-cost health, human service, and social-service programs.
Questions that decide eligibility
GiveCare prepares the questions; the program makes the decision. Bring these to the call or the application:
- 01
Does the person receiving care live in Idaho?
Residency is usually the first thing a program checks.
- 02
Does your relationship to the person — spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, other relative, or non relative — count for this program?
- 03
Does the VA disability rating meet the program’s minimum (our record lists null%)?
- 04
Do the work hours meet the minimum (our record lists null hours)?
- 05
Is there a caregiver-specific department, coordinator, or support line? Ask for it by name.
Many agencies have one that isn’t advertised on the website.
- 06
What documents do you need from us to start an application?
- 07
Is there a waitlist right now, and how long is it?
