Arkansas Choices in Living Resource Center
Arkansas caregivers can use the Choices in Living Resource Center, Arkansas's Aging and Disability Resource Center, to get free information and referral for long-term services and supports, Area Agency on Aging resources, respite vouchers, home and community-based Medicaid waiver options, and other supports for seniors, people with disabilities, families, and caregivers.
What it offers
The Arkansas Choices in Living Resource Center is an Aging and Disability Resource Center that provides no-cost information about long-term services and supports in Arkansas. Trained program specialists help people sort through options and make informed decisions. DHS identifies the served audiences as seniors, individuals with disabilities, families, caregivers, service providers, and any interested party. The resource center also links to local Area Agencies on Aging, long-term services and supports applications, home and community-based Medicaid waiver information, and Arkansas Lifespan Respite vouchers for primary caregivers.
Questions that decide eligibility
GiveCare prepares the questions; the program makes the decision. Bring these to the call or the application:
- 01
Does the person receiving care live in Arkansas?
Residency is usually the first thing a program checks.
- 02
Does your relationship to the person — spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, other relative, or non relative — count for this program?
- 03
Does the VA disability rating meet the program’s minimum (our record lists null%)?
- 04
Do the work hours meet the minimum (our record lists null hours)?
- 05
Is there a caregiver-specific department, coordinator, or support line? Ask for it by name.
Many agencies have one that isn’t advertised on the website.
- 06
What documents do you need from us to start an application?
- 07
Is there a waitlist right now, and how long is it?
