Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRC) / No Wrong Door System
National ADRC/No Wrong Door access framework connecting caregivers, family members, older adults, and people with disabilities with long-term services and supports. ADRCs provide information and referral, person-centered options counseling, benefits and eligibility screening, and streamlined access to public and private LTSS programs. The No Wrong Door initiative coordinates ADRC, CMS, VA, and state access systems through a unified framework; site counts, service menus, and intake workflows vary by state and local ADRC.
What it offers
ADRCs provide information and referral, objective advice and counseling, assistance accessing public and private long-term services and supports, and streamlined access to public LTSS programs. The No Wrong Door model is a joint ACL, CMS, and Veterans Health Administration initiative for older adults, people with disabilities, and their families. Find a local ADRC/contact through the Eldercare Locator at eldercare.acl.gov or 1-800-677-1116. State/local ADRC site counts and exact service menus vary and are tracked in state navigation records rather than as federal eligibility requirements.
Questions that decide eligibility
GiveCare prepares the questions; the program makes the decision. Bring these to the call or the application:
- 01
Does the VA disability rating meet the program’s minimum (our record lists null%)?
- 02
Do the work hours meet the minimum (our record lists null hours)?
- 03
Is there a caregiver-specific department, coordinator, or support line? Ask for it by name.
Many agencies have one that isn’t advertised on the website.
- 04
What documents do you need from us to start an application?
- 05
Is there a waitlist right now, and how long is it?
